Run out Sunday (27th August)

I'm hopefully going to be on this one:

Hi
Hopefully the British weather will be kind this weekend!!
This Sunday (27th August) we are having a ride out to Derwent Dam in the Peak District, home of the Dambusters.

The route will take us through Bassetts Pole, Lichfield, Ashbourne, Buxton. Then on to Peakforest, Brough & Bamford on some of the best roads for biking in England.

We will be meeting at the Rose & Crown, A435, Portway, JK3, M42 @ 9:15am

All our ride outs are run at a steady pace to allow for all styles of bikes and rider abilities.( In other words, not balls out / red line stuff ).

Regards:- Shaggy & 1066-MCC Members

Sounds good. JJ would have loved that one - a pity we are away this weekend.
1066 MCC ride-outs sound good, Vern. Keep posting them, please. One of these weekends we will be free and can tag along (JJ never redlines. Wouldn't, with me on the back anyway).

It's about just over 100 miles I reckon, just north of Buxton over the Derbyshire border I believe.

Apparently the club go at a nice relaxed pace, to cater for all comers, so I would think at about 4 or 5 hours, there and back, depending on how long we hang around at the stops and destination.

Had an excellent ride out with the 1066 crowd. Took a bit longer than expected, but that's the joys of biking. We were lucky with the weather and only got showered on a couple of times (and I needed a wash  Smiley.

I recommend their ride outs to anyone. They're a good bunch of people and make you most welcome.

Nice to meet you as well Hogie, it was a bit knackering wasn't it? Love the bikes and well done for completing it all.
